Your Birth!

This is the fun part! We never know exactly what birth will bring, but women are made to birth. We can do hard things. I will support you in these intense moments and bring positive energy. There are many hands-on comfort measures that can be soothing, but it also essential to discern when to use those skills. I am open and responsive to the ever- changing needs of the woman in labor. Sometimes the most respectful thing to protect your intimate and undisturbed story is to just quietly support and observe, ready to assist when needed. I will hold the sacred space as your birth unfolds.

Comfort measures such as relaxation, breathing, tension release, hydrotherapy, massage, mental visualizations, hot or cold packs, etc

Specific backache comfort measures such as rebozo and counterpressure, etc

Suggesting labor positions for coping through labor and encouraging baby to come down

Reassurance for partner and being another set of hands

Sibling Doula- can help with children to be a part of the experience or to be occupied in a different area

Offering rest, movement, eating and drinking, etc that feels right to the woman and her physiological birth

Protecting intimate space

Appropriate advocacy with your care provider

Birth photography or video if requested (I am not a professional, but have a passion for photography)

Encouraging immediate skin to skin and breastfeeding, if desired

Staying 1-2 hours after homebirths for cleaning up after this beautiful new life arrives

Postpartum Retreat Care

Mothering is the most fulfilling and complex job in the world. Give yourself grace as you are transitioning into this intense season. My offerings are catered to your specific needs to ease your mind and body gently into your magical role as mother. Your mental load of your typical responsibilities will melt away as you settle into the peace of your sole purpose of bonding with your baby. Establishing secure attachment is especially vital in these early moments. While you stay in bed with your baby, I’d love to serve your entire family unit with nourishment and holistic healing methods.

Sister Circles

At this unique season in your life, you may crave connection and understanding of the mountain of added responsibilities you have. A sisterhood is invaluable to share the highs of motherhood and the lows of the demand of it. Space can be created to validate your feelings and hold eachother in the waves of expectation, pressure, overstimulation and exhaustion. Postpartum depression and anxiety disorders are shown to intensify when you do not have recognition that it happened. When women listen and share a unity, we continue to grow in compassion and expand our wisdom. Sisters are our sanity keepers.
